A respected veteran, and with almost 2 decades of experience behind the decks, Genki has spent both his entire teen and adult life completely immersed in the hardcore and rave scene. Having been a die-hard Hardcore dj for 16 years, he's refused to conform or bend despite what anyone else was doing. Known for his unique blend of dark, euphoric, and uplifting track selections, he's seems to very easily take the crowd into his world. Having a very dedicated following, his listeners describe his sets as "uncaged energy" as he puts his all into each set.
Genki's addiction to vinyl and dj'ing started at a very young age, and by the time he was just 18 years old, he had scored a residency dj'ing Hardcore to thousands each week at Virginia's largest nightclub The Abyss, and quickly became the club's most requested act. In an area previously devoid of any Hardcore, he remained the states only active Hardcore dj for years, never loosing his fire for the music. He held onto this residency for 5 years, all the while touring to various shows around the country, playing at underground and club venues, and massives alike. Since The Abyss, Genki has obtained residencies at several notable nightclubs including The Ambush, Avanti's, The Wave, Club Vanqual, Dance 4 Life, Soundscape, Club Exit NYC, and Omega Bar. Spinning with artists like Brisk, Impact, Sc@r, Uplift, Luna-C, Venom, Dara, Hive, Mason and Dstar, and most recently Gridlock, he's been a highly requested dj since the late 90s. An 11 year member of the crew Ravers Only, he's been responsible for pushing hardcore in places that it was previously unpopular such as Nashville TN, Cheyenne WY, Phoenix AZ, Raleigh NC, and his hometown Virginia Beach, VA.
Keeping with a very tight schedule, Genki djed on several US and UK hardcore internet radio stations over the past decade including holding current regular shows on Krafty Radio , the largest Hardcore station in the UK alongside label mate and Hardcore legend, Luna-C. He also was a resident of every single Candyball event in NYC, with the exception of one event. 2011 may very well be his biggest year yet, having releases scheduled on Kniteforce (KFA), Hidden Language, DarkStar as well as his own label Willow Records.
