Forum Guidelines
Advertising:
- Please do not bog down our forums with advertising. If you wish to advertise an upcoming party you are throwing or know about, please do so via our events calendar and an email to events@raversonly.com! Any other advertising or soliciting of our members to buy, sell or peruse any products or services through this discussion forum should be done in the "Classifieds" forum. Chain letters and junk mail are strictly prohibited. Topics or posts that break this guideline will be deleted! If you wish to advertise on our web-site, via a banner ad, click here.
Flaming:
- Material that is knowingly defamatory, illegal, abusive, threatening or harassing, is strictly prohibited. As with anything in life, you as a member should use good common sense when posting. In other words, you agree not to be a jerk to other members. Posts containing personal attacks on another member will be edited and/or deleted. If you continue to harass other members on these message boards, your account will be nuked!
Drugs:
- We have a zero tolerance for conversations pertaining to drugs on these message boards, whether good or bad. This means don't mention drugs AT ALL. Aside from alcohol, no recreational drugs (whether legal or illegal) may be mentioned on this site. If you want to post something and feel unsure of its appropriateness, and maybe want to ask if it is appropriate, then it's probably not. Topics or posts found to contain a drug reference will be deleted on the spot. If you continue to post about drugs on these message boards, your account will be nuked!
Drug Related Screen Names:
- Since we have a zero tolerance for conversations pertaining to drugs on these message boards, why do we allow some people to have drug related screen names? Established DJ's are the only people allowed to have a drug related posting name WHEN their posting name is the same as their DJ name. ANYONE else on our message boards that creates a drug related screen name WILL be asked to change it!
Racism:
- Topics or posts containing racial slurs will be deleted on the spot. If you continue to post racial slurs on these message boards, your account will be nuked!
Porn/Nudity:
- Images that contain nudity are not permitted in any forum. Sexually based threads are to go in the "Ooh la La" forum, but they are not to get out of hand. No cybersex in the forums! Topics or posts containing such will be deleted on sight and you will receive a warning from our staff. If you continue to post images that contain nudity or violate these rules again on these message boards, your account will be nuked!
Cross-posting:
- Posting the same question in more than one forum is not allowed. Should this occur, only the thread in the most relevant forum will be left open; all others will be deleted on sight. If you continue to cross post on these message boards, your account will be nuked for six months!
Signatures:
-Signatures are to be of an appropriate size. Oversized signatures make message boards cluttered. Also, not everyone has their desktop set to 2500*2500 like you; Large signatures eat up some people's screens entirely. If your signature is too big, an admin or mod may ask you to resize it, at which point you should do so. Try to keep signatures to roughly no bigger than 400*250. Administration has final say on a case by case basis.
What happens if I break the rules?
At best, your post will be deleted by one of the moderators. If the offence is more serious, you will be notified via email. Posting, "why was my post deleted?", or anything of that nature, will only make matters worse, so please don't. If you continue to break any of the rules after being warned, via email, your account may be suspended or you may be banned.
What should I do if I see objectionable material on the forums?
- It is important that members recognize the real-time nature of these forums. The moderators cannot always monitor the contents of posted messages, and as such, depend upon you to inform them when participants, or their messages, are violating our policies as stated here. You must also recognize that they cannot respond immediately to such notices, and that some time may pass before any warranted action is taken. If you find something in violation of our policies, please email or private message one of the forum moderators or email smoke@raversonly.com. There are also "Report Post" buttons on each post that you may use.
Suggestions:
In the attempt to create a compromise where everyone is happy, the following suggestions are also recommended:
1. Be civil and courteous. This forum is visited by people from all over the world, of all different ages and genders, and are each entitled to their own opinion. Our message boards are known for being a fun friendly place to chat, please help keep it that way! **See Flaming
2. Try to keep topics in their designated forums. For example, if you wish to discuss a past party, do so in the raviews forum. Roll calls and meet-ups for upcoming parties should be done in the proper regional forum! We try to keep things as organized as possible and if the moderators feel your topic is misplaced, it will be moved to the proper forum.
3. Don't quote the entire message that you're responding to, only the pertinent passage. This makes it easier to read for other users.
4. Only post pictures when absolutely necessary, and when they are directly relevant to the topic discussion. If the image you are posting is large in size (either pixel size, file size, or both), then please post a link to the picture instead of posting the picture itself. Remember that not everybody has the T3 connection that you are accustomed to, and may have to wait some time for images to load.
5. Message boards are as fun as you make them! Speak up and interact!
Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message.
The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this bulletin board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.
